Hostels recommend hostels
Some of our partners know which hostels at the next destination are really worth it. The network is built on those recommendations — and by referring to each other inside our backpacker ecosystem, they get rewarded.
NEXT PASS
A NEXT PASS is a free digital travel pass* that connects the hostel you are in tonight to the one you sleep in next. It is a unique code, generated on your phone, that marks you as someone moving through the NEXT STOP network.
Getting one takes a single scan. Every partner hostel has its own NEXT STOP QR code on display at reception; point your camera at it, NEXT STOP opens on your phone, and your pass appears on screen. It stays on your phone from there.
When you book your next destination, that code unlocks the partner hostel's special NEXT STOP rate — the price a hostel can offer when it is not paying any booking platform a large commission. You book with the hostel; NEXT STOP simply connects the two of you.

The loop
Hostels can refer to specific other partner hostels, or just encourage you to keep exploring within the network.
Some of our partners know which hostels at the next destination are really worth it. The network is built on those recommendations — and by referring to each other inside our backpacker ecosystem, they get rewarded.
Most booking platforms focus on individual stays. NEXT STOP is built around the way backpackers actually travel: moving from hostel to hostel, discovering new destinations, and making each stop part of a bigger journey.
The QR code at reception links your NEXT PASS to the hostel where you received it, so NEXT STOP can reward the hostels that keep backpackers moving within our community. Our main goal is to save all of us from the extreme booking fees charged by major platforms.

These are demo prices from this preview build, not live rates. The totals above are calculated from the dorm prices listed on each hostel's page and assume one bed per night. How much you save depends on the hostel, the room and the dates — a NEXT PASS unlocks the hostel's own NEXT STOP rate, which is always at least 5% below the regular price and is often more.
A NEXT PASS is a digital travel pass that connects you to your next stay in the NEXT STOP network. It is a unique code, generated on your phone, that identifies you as someone travelling through the network.
Entering that code when you book your next destination unlocks the partner hostel's NEXT STOP rate — the price they can offer when they are not paying a big booking platform's fees.
Scan the NEXT STOP QR code at the reception of the partner hostel you are staying at. Your phone camera is enough.
Scanning opens NEXT STOP on your phone, a short flow generates your unique pass code, and it appears on screen straight away.
No. Nothing is printed and nothing is handed over at reception. The pass is digital and lives on your phone.
The hostel's only part in it is displaying its NEXT STOP QR code where guests can see it.
A pass is intended for the next leg of your trip rather than for indefinite use. The validity period is shown on the pass itself when it is generated.
Exact terms are being finalised with the founding partners and will be published here before the network opens to bookings.
Booking, payments and partner questions are answered on the full FAQ page.
Find a hostel in the network, stay a night, and scan the QR code at reception. That is the whole process — and if you run a hostel, this is how you join the other side of it.
